US Senate Needs to Ban the Super Bowl

The Iraq Surrender Group of senators also needs to include in there legislation to get out of Iraq, that the United States also bans winning and determining champions. The Senators opposed to the war in Iraq only want the US to lose and to quit. How can you allow there to be championships in your country if you desire the country to a nation of losers.

With the banning of championships, we need to ban the Super Bowl, the Stanley Cup, the NBA Championship and the World Series. How arrogant to declare that the United States has the best baseball and baseball players in the world. Opps, we invented the game here, same thing for football, and basketball. We can not be declaring winners and champions in our country, when we go out and start fights/wars around the world and quit.

We have to ban these championships, if we can have a congress that is so opposed to our military winning. How dare the United States be the world’s only super power! Sorry, it was our fathers and grandfathers that have bailed out Europe twice in WW I & II.

The United States is the only world’s super power because we have men and women that are willing to put aside their lives and volunteer to defend our country. Yet we have a political party that sees their path back to the president’s office by our failure in Iraq. So if the politicians want us to be a nation of losers in battles, they must also demand that we eliminate sports championships.

Will the Iraq Surrender Group ever propose the elimination of championships, not very likely? The leaders in the Iraq Surrender Group see sports fans as one of their biggest voting blocks, that they can not afford to offend. They see the average sports fan as a dumb blue collar worker sitting in front of the TV drinking beer. At the same time they see the average service man as an individual that is to dumb to get a job else where.

As a nation I firmly believe most of us love, respect, and are grateful for our service men and women. As a nation I believe most do not like the progress in the last few years in Iraq, but we still support our troops. As a nation I firmly believe, if given the choice they want the United States and Iraq to win the battle in Iraq.

Iraq is only one of the battles in the war on terror. As a Naval Veteran, I want our military to kick some butt and win! I want to see all of the championships continue. I want to see our nation demand that our military is victorious in the battles in the war on terror. I want to see our nation shed this opinion that quitting is okay in Iraq. Quitting is for losers and to surrender is to die. The purpose of the war on terror is to limit further attacks on the United States in the United States.

MSN Thinks You're Stupid, Again

Kimberly Sevcik in her article titled A Tale of Two Cities tries to tell you that unless you’re rich you have no chance. This article was published by MSN. She cites that the rich have increased their income by 200% and the single mom in poverty has only improved by 1% in the last 25 years. She uses this example to state that there is no middle class.

Well MSN, there is this thing called inflation. Over the last 25 years inflation has averaged at about 3% per year. On average the stock market gains about 10% per year. 200% over 25 years is only 8%; they’re doing worse than dumping all of their money in the stock market.

MSN takes a successful family compared to a single mom that her husband an illegal immigrant was arrested trying to cross the boarder. The description of the mother does not state if she is here legally her self. If you are not in the USA legally, you really have very limited chances of success to be anything but living below the poverty level.

Through out the whole article there is nothing of mention of the middle class. Is this to make the interference that here in the USA we are either filthy rich or dirt poor? According to the IRS and bankruptcy courts here in southwest Michigan, at $70,000 per year income you are making 20% above the mean income in Kalamazoo County, AKA rich. I don’t feel rich.

Michigan has gone from a very prosperous state to highest unemployment in the nation in 10 years. I still can not relate to the reference that MSN made to the poor in our state. There is no comparison to the flamboyant rich to the middle class, and there probably never will be.

The reality is that this article is just one more case of the media calling the average Joe, DUMB, “Those dumb hicks in flyover country.” Well this average guy in flyover country, know this. The United States of America is the greatest in the world. I was privileged to be born here, to be a citizen and proud to have served this great country in the United States Navy.

As to Kimberly if she wrote this article in China or Russia, she’d be shot for writing badly about the country. If she lived in Iran and wrote this article, she’d be shot because she is a woman, ergo she has no rights. God Bless America, I defended this great country so that stupid people have the write to write articles that call the nation stupid.

State of the Union Address

President Bush may have a great idea with the tax credit for health care costs for the self insured. Although I am afraid he has over looked the unintended consequences again.

He worded a tax cut as health care reform, smooth. But just like reducing student loan rates, health care providers and everyone else see it as a chance for more sales or increase prices. There has to be a mechanism that reduces the increases in health care cost along with the tax credit. Last I heard health care costs were rising at 8-10% per year, where inflation is half to a third of that.

President Bush did state that there should be no immunity for the illegal immigrants. He went on to state that there needs to be increased enforcement on employers hiring illegals. I’m all in favor of legal immigration; I’m just opposed to illegal immigration.

WP: Democrats do abortion sidestep - washingtonpost.com Highlights - MSNBC.com

"Eager to avoid a resumption of the culture wars, the new Democratic leaders are trying to tiptoe around the abortion issue by promoting legislation to encourage birth control and assist women who decide to proceed with unwanted pregnancies.

Democrats acknowledge that they alienated many social conservatives and churchgoing voters during years of combat with Republicans over the explosive issue of reproductive rights, and they want to change their emphasis to woo some of those voters back into the fold.

On the opening day of the 110th Congress on Jan. 4, for instance, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.), an abortion foe, introduced a bill to increase funding for family planning and to improve access to emergency contraception. The measure has been endorsed by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), a champion of abortion rights, and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), a leading Democratic presidential prospect.

These and other initiatives are a far cry from previous Democratic efforts that drew strong conservative opposition, including funding for abortions for women in the military serving overseas and U.N. family-planning programs in Third World countries.
getCSS("3176006")

Full politics coverage"There are few more divisive issues in America today than abortion, but there is an opportunity to find common ground if we are willing to join together and seize it," Reid said recently. "The rate of unintended pregnancies is unacceptably high." Legislation such as his, he added, "can reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and the resulting abortions in America today."

During the past decade of Republican rule, Congress became a battleground for opposing forces in the abortion debate. Nearly 150 bills and amendments have been offered with the aim of restricting the procedure. Democrats and pro-abortion-rights Republicans blocked most of those measures, but in the process they alienated a vital group of voters — religious moderates who support, in principle, the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide but who are morally squeamish about terminating pregnancies.

Now Democrats are seeking to reach these "abortion grays" through their own legislative proposals, all focused on preventing unwanted pregnancies. The initiatives, including several in development for more than a year, represent an attempt to broaden the discussion beyond the traditional framework of whether abortion should be legal. By recasting their approach, Democrats hope to appeal to "grays" in suburban areas and Midwestern towns who have voted Republican in recent elections.

"We believe deeply that we can do better than we're doing in our country when it comes to preventing unintended pregnancies and helping to support mothers and children," Clinton said in announcing her support for Reid's initiative.

‘Something that Democrats are really into’In the House, Reps. Tim Ryan (Ohio), a Democrat who opposes abortion, and Rosa DeLauro (Conn.), a member of the Democratic leadership who supports abortion rights, are backing measures to make contraception easier to obtain, while providing aid to women who proceed with unintended pregnancies. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) helped smooth the path for the Ryan-DeLauro bill, and Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), the fourth-ranking House Democrat, is a cosponsor. "This is something that Democrats are really into," Emanuel said.

At least four similar bills are circulating. Antiabortion Democrats who are reluctant to promote contraception use are backing a more limited effort to help pregnant women and single mothers.
"You're going to see a change in the tone of the debate, and a move toward more solutions, rather than the divisiveness," said Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, a leading abortion rights group that signed on early to the prevention agenda. "What we're going to see in this Congress is some problem-solving."

The 2006 election results sent mixed signals about where voters stand on abortion. On one hand, pro-abortion-rights Democrats won in 22 House districts that had been represented by antiabortion Republicans. Three Senate seats also flipped from anti- to pro-abortion-rights candidates, and antiabortion ballot initiatives failed in three states, including South Dakota, where voters blocked an effort to outlaw the procedure.

On the other hand, five antiabortion Democrats were elected to the House from districts in the industrial Midwest and South, conservative regions that the Democratic Party had been struggling to infiltrate. Robert P. Casey Jr. (Pa.), who is Catholic and opposes abortion, won a Senate seat with strong Democratic establishment backing — although his father, the late Pennsylvania governor Robert P. Casey Sr., had been barred from addressing the 1992 Democratic National Convention because of his antiabortion views. A slim majority of the Senate leans toward favoring abortion rights, but the Democratic-led House remains antiabortion by a narrow margin. As one abortion rights activist put it, "We've made gains, but we don't have carte blanche on anything."

Democrats hope their proposals for preventing unwanted pregnancies will become a bridge within the party and even across the aisle to some Republicans, a way to reconcile moral reservations with legal rights.

‘Abortion grays’
Third Way, a moderate Democratic policy group, coined the term "abortion grays" to define the nearly two-thirds of voters who hold mixed views on the subject. Rachel Laser, Third Way's abortion expert, has counseled numerous Democratic candidates and lawmakers on prevention rhetoric. In a poll the group commissioned last summer, 69 percent of voters said they supported the goal of reducing the number of abortions "while still preserving the basic right to have one."

Yet Democrats have been reluctant even to mention abortion in recent years. Laser reviewed Senate Web sites and found that Democratic members used the word fewer than 350 times, while Republicans raised the issue 1,900 times. Democrats "also are prone to make conflicting statements about abortion or to couple their pro-choice voting records with a statement professing their personal opposition to abortion," one of her Third Way memos said. "This comes across as defensive, confusing and disingenuous."

The Reid bill, sponsored in the House by Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-N.Y.), would increase funds for family-planning services, ensure contraception equity in health insurance plans and improve access to emergency contraception. The Ryan-DeLauro legislation would expand access to contraception, fund sex-education programs, improve health-care access for low-income women and children, and extend adoption tax credits.

Minefields still awaitThere are still minefields, as Ryan discovered when he entered the abortion fray in the House. A 33-year-old Catholic who represents a working-class Ohio district, he has sought to jostle Democratic thinking on abortion since his service in the state legislature. After he was elected to Congress in 2002, Ryan reached out to the antiabortion group Democrats for Life. The group was devising what evolved into a foundation of the prevention agenda, a plan to lower the abortion rate by 95 percent over 10 years.

In late 2005, Democrats for Life discussed a possible collaboration with Third Way, but an alliance never materialized because many antiabortion Democrats, particularly Catholics, were reluctant to endorse contraception provisions.

"We wanted a bill that all pro-life Democrats could feel comfortable supporting," said Kristen Day, executive director of Democrats for Life. But Ryan decided that Democrats had to go further, and he shopped his bill around the House without the group's support. It has since become the leading Democratic vehicle in that chamber. "We cannot have a legitimate abortion-reduction bill without contraception," Ryan said.

But the Democrats for Life bill also has gained broad support and even has attracted some Republican backers. Among its provisions: expanding welfare and health benefits for pregnant women and closing health-insurance loopholes that limit prenatal care. At least three states — Alabama, Michigan and Virginia — are considering smaller versions of the House package, Day said.

"In the ideal world, there would have been just one bill," she said. "But it's a positive step that our party has been talking about this. Two bills is a good thing."

Democratic Party, Home of the Baby Killers!

Today is the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision, yet our Democratic Party politicians still champion quitting in Iraq but think nothing about killing babies. Maybe we need to start calling the Democrats the Baby Killers. I have not met a service man or woman that promotes killing babies, yet the Democratic Party has championed the abortion cause with legislation for at least over 30 years.

Everyday as I listen to the news and talk radio I hear pleas to get out of Iraq now. The common theme I hear is too many service men and women are dieing over in Iraq. Let’s get the facts straight, we kill more babies per day with abortions than have died in five years in Iraq and Afghanistan. Service men and women want to engage armies and navies not civilians. The United States Military has gone to great lengths to minimize collateral damage, where women and children get killed. But who gets called the baby killers, the military by the peace activist. It is the same group of peace activist that you see holding rallies for legalized abortions, "baby Killers".

Why does the Democratic Party promote the Abortion Rights Activists, MONEY! The politicians need the money for re-election. The baby killers threaten to withhold the money if they do not vote the way they want them to. So the politicians vote the way their financial supporters want them to, in many times contrary to the constituents. This makes them accomplices to the murders.

One of the biggest causes of unwanted pregnancies is drunken sex. Ask some people you know that got pregnant unexpectedly, were you drinking at the time when you had sex and got pregnant? More often than not a majority were. The decision to have an abortion is for selfish reasons.

I am not of the opinion of objecting to an abortion in the cases of rape or threat to the mother’s safety. Although, once the baby reaches 24 weeks, the baby can be born not matter what. No one has said that the babies have to be raised by the mothers; there are many parents that would love to adopt them.

Unfortunately we hear everyday how we should get out of Iraq, but one word on how to stop the killing of our babies. What a bunch of F-ing BABY KILLERS!!! Hey can we spit at them too? Some A-hole spit at me and called me a "Baby Killer", going through San Jose airport in 1986 in my Navy uniform. I'd like to return the favor.

Hydrogen Cars

Hydrogen cars are not only the future, they are here, now. When hydrogen cars become the status quo, the U. S. can lessen its dependence upon foreign oil, achieve lower prices at the fuel pumps and cut down on the greenhouse gases that produce global warming. The future of hydrogen cars is not a pipe dream, as there are already many hydrogen cars on the road. California and Japan have many hydrogen cars being used as fleet vehicles now.

In 2005, Honda leased the first commercial hydrogen car to a family in Redondo Beach, California.

For the past 28 years, the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has been conducting research on hydrogen fuel cells for use in transportation, industry and residential use. According to the LANL, "Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Research at Los Alamos has made significant technological advances in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cells, Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC), and related technologies such as the electrolyzer (a fuel cell in reverse, liberating hydrogen from electricity and pure water)."
Unlike many of the hybrid and "green" cars currently on the market, hydrogen cars offer the promise of zero emission technology, where the only byproduct from the cars is water vapor. Current fossil-fuel burning vehicles emit all sorts of pollutants such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, ozone and microscopic particulate matter. Hybrids and other green cars address these issues to a large extent but only hydrogen cars hold the promise of zero emission of pollutants. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that fossil-fuel automobiles emit 1 ½ billion tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere each year and going to hydrogen-based transportation would all but eliminate this.
Not only that, hydrogen cars will lessen the United States' dependence upon foreign oil. The so-called "hydrogen highway" will mean less dependence upon OPEC, the big U. S. oil companies, oil refinery malfunctions and breakdowns and less resistance from oil selling nations like Venezuela and Saudi Arabia or from hostile nations who would rather sell elsewhere. Consumers will finally get a break from the never-ending rising prices at the gasoline pumps.
President Bush has already allocated approximately $2 billion in hydrogen highway research. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing to get 200 hydrogen filling stations built by 2010 stretching from Vancouver, British Columbia, all the way down to Baja, California. Since Californians buy one-fifth of the nation's cars, the new hydrogen car technology could simply replace the current gasoline engine automobiles in what is called "disruptive technology" where something so innovative comes along it simply replaces the old technology very quickly.
Then again, a more likely scenario is that dual-fuel automotive systems will be developed that can run on either gasoline or hydrogen as the hydrogen infrastructure is being developed. The conversion from gasoline-powered internal combustion engines to hydrogen powered combustion engines is agreed upon by most scientists and engineers to be a particularly easy transition and would buy time for hydrogen fuel cell cars to be fully adapted. Hydrogen cars are the future, so why not take a test drive of this website right now and see what you'll be driving a few short years from now. The hydrogen economy is just around the bend. Will you be ready?
For a simple modificaiton that will utilize please see the link to a Hydrogen Booster Kit that will allow you to use this technology now.

Why No Agra Fuels?

Why do we still have our tax dollars going to farm subsidies for farmers not to grow crops on their lands? We also subsidize the price of grains so that our farmers can compete with the world prices. Why is it that a Joe six pack can modify his car and drive across the country using "spent oil" from fast food restaurants and the automotive industry can not come up with a way to do this?

The United States is one of the most productive countries for agriculture, yet we are dependant on other countries for oil. I just have a very hard time trying to understand why we can use corn or soy beans to make alcohol and vegetable oil for fuel.

What Happened to Pelosi's First 100 Hours

What did Nancy Pelosi achieve in the first 100 hours of this new congress? Well they got through one tax increase and are trying for the college tuition rate increase.

The tax increase was for those nasty Small Business owners disguised as the minimum wage increase. The college tuition rate increase was disguised as the Student loan interest rate decrease. Just two more cases of the politicians screwing over the little guy.

First Tax Increase in Less Than a Week with New Congress

The Democrats have already passed a tax increase 6.5 billion in the first week of the new congress. Yet they called it the Minimum Wage Increase to help the “poor”. Call it what you want but all it really does is increase the Social Security taxes that go to the government’s general fund. It only helps roughly 0.1% wage earners that are in households in the poverty level. Yet it impacts 0.5% of legal US employees.
The biggest impact is upon the small business owners. This minimum wage increase will cost the employer 2.26 in wage and Social Security taxes. There is still an increase in un-employment taxes and workers compensation also. As consumers we will feel the pinch first at the fast food restaurants.
This tax increase was not necessary with unemployment at record all time lows, economics will drive up the minimum wage naturally. We must always remember the lessons that our great President Ronald Reagan taught us. By cutting taxes, you make it better for everybody. By cutting taxes for the “rich”, the “rich” reinvest which creates more jobs.
Worst of all the tax increase is the biggest burden on the people that need the money the most. Our Social Security tax is a regressive tax. What that means is the more you make, the less you pay. In 2006 at $92,500 you no longer paid social Security tax, but you still continue to pay Medicare. Family members in house holds below the poverty level never see this tax break.
While this bill was being shoved through Congress, our First Woman Speaker of the house, wasted no time in learning new tricks. She slipped through an exemption through for a large corporation in her district. When challenged about this, she claimed she had no part in it. Nancy is right, she did not. If I am not mistaken, as the Speaker she can not introduce bills or amendments. Nancy must have had another Democrat include it for her.
Don’t worry. The Democrats are already working what they claim to be their first tax increase. They must be using new math, because I count this to be tax increase number two.
